Pre Selection Consultation
Pre selection consultation helps you choose the right dog for both your temperament and your lifestyle, and teach you the basics of housetraining, exercise, and proper socialization, as well as how to determine the best diet for your dog. All of these factors play an important role in creating a strong foundation for a positive training experience for you and your dog. And just in case you become confused as to why they do the things they do, we can help you with that also!
Darwin's Class
Darwin's class is a puppy-specific option we started for the new year. It's a comprehensive class with group, socialization, and private elements. It includes one private consult, Four group classes, and eight socialization sessions. The private consult will cover potty training and specific problems, and is an hour long. The group classes meet on Saturdays at 10am, and cover various important puppy topics, including: Handling exercises, desensitization exercises, confidence building through pre-agility obstacle courses, safety, health, grooming tips, and basic training information. The Socialization sessions are called Einstien's class, and are two hour periods where the pup interacts with other dogs in our daycare, building his confidence and getting him used to other dogs via playing with them in our monitored environment. Darwin's class is open to puppies 5 months old, and is $125 for the entire package
Potty Training 101
Potty Training 101 consists of two counseling sessions and unlimited support. All training materials are provided by Potomac Dog School.
Puppy HEADSTART
Puppy HEADSTART includes two hours of consultation to help families with their new young puppies. If your puppy is at least 6-weeks old, but under 4-months, then Puppy HEADSTART is the right place to start training! We not only teach your pup the basics of "sit" and "down", but we also teach you how to live with your new member of the family. Our private customized sessions are fun, affordable, and convenient. Never worry about missing a class---we come to your home, at the time that is most convenient for you. Some of the topics available to be discussed are: potty training, safe toys vs. unsafe toys, inappropriate chewing, barking, play biting, jumping up, socialization, handling exercises, etc.
Puppy PRESCHOOL
Our puppy preschool classes are starting January 2009! The class is for puppies ages 12 to 20 weeks. This time period of the puppy's life is critical and a must for training and proper exposure to insure a healthy development for your puppy.
In addition to Pre-School we will also be offering Puppy Socials. Again the same age range; 12-20 weeks.
